Cara Named Grant Recipient by Chicago Bears

NFL team gives $1 million to ten organizations as part of Community All-Pros initiative

The Chicago Bears announced Cara one of ten recipients for the Bears100 Community All-Pros initiative.

Each organization will receive a $100,000 grant – totaling $1 million in donations in honor of the NFL team’s 100th season – and be recognized at a home game during the 2019 season. Cara will be honored at a Thursday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys on December 5.

“We are truly honored and blown away by the power of this grant and the recognition from such a storied Chicago institution,” said Maria Kim, Cara President & CEO. “Cara is thrilled to stand alongside these other incredible All-Pro organizations who are committed to making a better Chicago for all.”

Cara staff member and lifelong Chicago Bears fan Lynnette is already “Bear-ing Down” with excitement over being named a Community All-Pro.

Local organizations were able to apply online for the grants and fans were encouraged to nominate charities they’re passionate about. Charities were reviewed/selected by an internal committee.

“The Chicago area has been great to us, so we wanted to give fans the chance to help direct the $1 million in grants towards causes they’re passionate about as part of our centennial celebrations to show our appreciation,” said George H. McCaskey, Chicago Bears Chairman, in the announcement. “We’re looking forward to seeing the positive impact these organizations will continue to have on those they serve.”
